What does the Advanced Open Water Diver Course include?

The course is structured into 2 compulsory specialties and 3 elective specialties, each consisting of a theory component and a practical component. This gives you the flexibility to customise your training according to your interests and the environment in which you dive.

Compulsory Specialties:

• Deep Dive: Explore the depths of the ocean with a dive that will take you to 30 metres (or 21 metres for 12-14 year old divers). Here, you'll practice essential techniques for managing pressure and other aspects of deep diving.

• Underwater Navigation: Improve your ability to orientate yourself underwater using a compass, perfecting your course plotting and advanced buoyancy control.

Adventure Dives of Choice:

You can select up to 3 additional specialties according to the options available at your dive centre. Some of the most popular options include:

• Night Diving

• Nitrox Diving

• Buoyancy Control

• Search and Recovery

• Underwater Photography

• Dry Suit Diving

• Drift Diving

• Underwater Propulsion Vehicle (DPV)

Entry Requirements

• Previous certification: Open Water Diver

• Minimum age: 12 yearsold

Dive Details

• Compulsory dives: You will make 2 open water dives, covering the specialties of Deep Diving and Underwater Navigation.

• Additional dives: Select 3 additional adventure dives from those offered by your dive centre.

• Maximum depth: Up to 30 metres (or 21 metres for divers aged 12-14 years).
